Kleinwallstadt, August 07, 2018 (PresseBox) – Modern, innovative mechanical engineering is characterised by decreasing external dimensions with constant or increasing overall performance. This development is not at least prescribed by the drive technology and here the required fasteners should not be underestimated. With the metal bellows coupling series KPS, the company Jakob Antriebstechnik from Kleinwallstadt was able to take this development into account and gained further advantages by constructive modifications.

The known strengths of the metal bellows like: • Compensation of the shaft misalignment • High torsional rigidity • Low moment of inertia • Absolutely free of play • Maintenance-free, and • Temperature-resistant all-metal design.

Add to this, the advantage of a very short length, due to an expanding cone for integrated installation. In this case, the expansion cone finds its safe connection in a correspondingly dimensioned, axial bore of the shaft.

With the expanding cone on the one hand and a radial clamping hub on the other side, the rotationally symmetrical, non-positive connection, and the easy-to-use handling is maintained, the insertion length within the overall system, however, considerably reduced. It is therefore ideal for applications with minimal shaft spacing and limited installation conditions. The high torsional stiffness values of the metal bellows coupling in combination with their low moments of inertia make it particularly suitable for use in highly dynamic drives. Overall, this coupling is a suitable link for demanding drive systems, for gearbox attachments, connection of encoders and spindle and axle drives.
