DICV launches BharatBenz Exchange for customers to trade-in used CVs of any make for new or pre-owned BharatBenz vehicles.
August 7, 2020 – Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), manufacturer of Bharat Benz trucks and buses, launched ‘BharatBenz Exchange’, a new offer to the used commercial vehicle segment. The company will leverage its growing customer base and nation-wide dealer network by offering an exchange platform where customers can exchange their used vehicles of any brand for new or used BharatBenz vehicles. “As the number of BharatBenz owners rapidly increase, we feel it is the right time to tap the massive potential presented by the used commercial vehicle segment,” said Satyakam Arya, MD & CEO, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles. “Fleet owners have affordability issues, given the slowdown, and they are looking for reliable and quality-assured used vehicles rather than a new truck. The introduction of BS-VI norms has pushed costs higher,” he added.
All used vehicles offered for exchange have been thoroughly overhauled and subject to quality checks. “With BharatBenz Exchange, used vehicle sellers and buyers no longer have to haggle over the right price or worry about incomplete paperwork. Our trained experts will ensure that both parties have the best customer experience. We see enormous potential here to show even more customers the quality of BharatBenz products and services. This also ensures the complete lifecycle of the vehicle is taken care of,” explained Rajaram Krishnamurthy, VP, Marketing & Sales and Customer Service.
Arya also said that since the company is now seeing signs of revival in the construction, mining and infrastructure segments, it will most likely start its second shift at the Oragadam plant near Chennai very soon. Recently, DICV had signed a MoU with Tamil Nadu to invest an additional Rs 2,277 crore for expanding production capacity in Chennai and for developing new vehicles.
