Schmalz is expanding the MATCH end-of-arm platform A new vacuum generator and the connection to the Schmalz Connect Suite ensure efficient pneumatic operation and intelligent data use.

The pneumatic vacuum generator RECB MATCH

January 2022 – No sooner has MATCH been successfully launched than J. Schmalz GmbH is expanding the modular system, which allows robots to use mechanical and vacuum grippers flexibly. With the connection to the Schmalz Connect Suite (SCS) via IO-Link, users can now evaluate and visualize data acquired during the gripping process - without affecting the control process. The results appear in a clear dashboard, whether on the smartphone, tablet, PC or in external apps. This makes the entire process transparent, and the user can see relevant information such as utilization and maintenance planning or any error messages, including recommendations for action, at a glance. Communication takes place via the Schmalz Connect Suite, which can also integrate other IO-Link devices.

Another innovation supports efficient operation: Schmalz has adapted its RECB pneumatic vacuum generator to the MATCH system. Thanks to its high suction capacity of 74 liters per minute, the new RECB MATCH can handle even porous or limp workpieces. The integrated SEP nozzle ensures high performance and yet lower energy consumption. Its eco nozzle technology is based on the multi-stage Venturi principle, which Schmalz has further optimized. The RECB MATCH is an alternative to the electric vacuum generators ECBPMi and ECBPi, which are also part of the gripper portfolio. Value-added data can also be read out via the SCS for this variant.
