December 27, 2021: ARAPL RaaS – a wholly-owned subsidiary of Affordable Robotic & Automation Ltd (ARAPL),
a turnkey robotic automation solution provider for automotive industries and parking automation in the realty sector has managed to raise USD 0.7 million within 2 months of its existence. ARAPL's focus on 10-minute delivery in supply management has been the driving factor that helped raise this capital for the company. There is an increased and intense competition in instant commerce – with many operators now promising 10-minute delivery, such as Zepto, Swiggy; Grofers, and even Ola has entered this segment, and this is a key objective in this industry. The startup plans to use the fresh capital to build a world-class completely automated robotic experience zone for warehouse automation. Also, the funds will be used to make world-class Swarm Robotics AI which will include fleet management for 120 Robots; Robot path optimisation; Shortest Robot path and its own Wms.ai. This will be the first time any company in India will be making Swarm Robotics AI for 120 robots working together. The customers can come and experience the working of robots in the first of its type in India, a completely automated warehouse. With the experience zone, the scaling of operations will be faster in the coming years.
The organisation's USP is that they can achieve 900 picks per person per hour with the mission of reducing the cost of warehouse operations through automation.
“We are building a robust ecosystem for Robot As A Service (RaaS) which will change this Industry from Capex to Opex model. This automation will make the backend ready for a 10min delivery model. ARAPL RaaS aims to enable instant commerce with end to end solutions for warehouse automation that will help to reduce their cost per pick by more than 50%, which will be a game-changer,” Milind Padole, MD, ARAPL said.
"Currently on a lower ticket size of Rs 100, instant commerce operators spend around 50% of their margins in warehouse operations – and with an increased focus on shorter delivery periods like 10-min delivery – the ticket size is going to come down further and hence the need for low-cost operations will be significant. We as a company understand that customers need end-to-end solutions instead of a piecemeal or fragmented approach. For us to achieve this milestone, is only a natural progression, as we understand what the customer is looking for,” said Robinson Philipose, CEO & Co-Founder, ARAPL RaaS.
Founded in 2021, ARAPL the brand brings its unique offering RaaS- Robotics as a Service that is pay per use basis. It uses AI and machine learning to automate every aspect of the service they provide.
As per one of the advisory panel members, Mr Debjit Roy, PhD, Chairperson, Research and Publication office at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, “Through a lost-cost and high-throughput automation business model, RaaS.ai is well-positioned to support the auto-replenishment of grocery; eCommerce and other retail brands FCs and achieve short fulfilment times. What makes the automation scalable, reliable, and affordable for a user is its inherent flexibility in deploying intelligent robots as a service"
ARAPL RAAS is already in talks with several e-commerce giants for automation solutions. With the help of this funding, the company will continue to produce customer-centric and B2B products and services that will help in bringing about necessary changes in the tech and automation space. The funding will also be used to create an experience zone to address the confidence of the customer, where they will be able to witness the solutions for full-scale operations.
